8 Things You Can Do to Save Water
Saving water at home does not require any significant cost outlay. Although there are water-saving appliances and water conservation systems such as rain barrels, drip irrigation and on-demand water heaters which are more expensive, the bulk of water saving methods can be achieved at little or no cost.
1. Use a water bottle for drinking water instead of glasses. This would help in saving water that would otherwise be wasted in washing several glasses.
2. With an average shower head, over 5 gallons of water goes down the drain while we wait for the shower to heat up.
3. Turn off running water whenever you can, even while walking on a road. This would save water, and inspire others to do the same.

4. Repair leaks. A dripping bathroom faucet or constantly running toilet may not seem like that big of a deal, but over time, little leaks can really add up.

5. Turn your toilet into a low flow toilet.
Fill up a decent sized water bottle with
water and rocks and then drop it into the back of your toilet. It will
displace water meaning your toilet requires less water to fill.

6. Take Shorter showers.
One way to cut down on water use is to turn off the shower after soaping
up, then turn it back on to rinse. A four-minute shower uses approximately
20 to 40 gallons of water.
7. Never put water down the drain when there may be another use for it such as watering a plant or garden, or cleaning.8. Turn Off the Faucet While Brushing Your Teeth
